WAIDE Intellectual Property & Media Policy
WAIDE respects the intellectual property of architects, designers, studios, photographers, clients and other project contributors. This policy explains the rights and permissions needed when material is submitted to the WAIDE platform or awards programme.
Entrants Keep Ownership
Submitting a project to WAIDE does not transfer ownership of the project’s underlying intellectual property to WAIDE. Copyright and other proprietary rights remain with their lawful owners, subject to the licence required for WAIDE to operate the awards and platform.
Licence to WAIDE
By submitting materials, the entrant grants WAIDE a non-exclusive licence, for the duration reasonably necessary for the platform and award archive, to reproduce, display, format, crop where appropriate for layout, publish, distribute and promote the submitted materials in connection with WAIDE, its awards, editorial coverage, social channels, exhibitions, certificates, winner communications and historical archive. The live legal wording should define the exact scope, territory and duration of that licence.
Image and Photography Rights
Entrants must have permission to submit photographs, renderings, drawings, films, graphics and other media. Photographer and creator credits should be provided accurately. If a licence limits publication, the entrant must disclose the limitation before submission.
Project Credits
WAIDE may publish the project title, studio, authors, collaborators, consultants, photographer, client, location, category, award level and other credits supplied by the entrant. Entrants are responsible for checking names and credits before final submission.
Editorial Use
WAIDE may create editorial features, winner pages, project profiles, social posts, newsletters, press materials, category pages, country pages and other platform content based on submitted projects. Editorial use should not imply ownership of the project by WAIDE.
Media and Press Distribution
For awarded or selected projects, WAIDE may provide approved images and project information to media partners, journalists, publications or promotional channels for coverage of the awards. Where third-party image rights restrict redistribution, the entrant must identify those restrictions in advance.
Removal and Corrections
If an entrant discovers an error in a credit or a legitimate rights issue after publication, they should contact WAIDE with the relevant page and evidence. WAIDE may correct credits, replace material or remove content where reasonably necessary, while preserving lawful archival records where appropriate.
Unauthorized Use of WAIDE Marks
WAIDE logos, award marks, badges, certificates and trophy imagery may be used only in accordance with the applicable brand and winner-use rules. Participation alone must not be presented as a win. Award claims must accurately state the year, category and recognition received.
