WAIDE Awards Eligibility

WAIDE Awards 2027 is designed for a broad international community of architecture, design and development professionals, organizations and emerging talent. Eligibility depends on the participant, the project, the selected category and the submitting party’s right to enter the work.

Who Can Enter WAIDE?

Eligible participants may include:

  • Architecture practices and individual architects
  • Interior and landscape architects
  • Urban designers
  • Product, furniture, lighting, graphic and material designers
  • Visualization artists
  • Developers and multidisciplinary teams
  • Students and emerging professionals

Organizations and Individual Entrants

Entries may be submitted by a company, studio, individual professional, project team or authorized representative. The person completing the entry must have permission to provide the project information and materials used in the submission.

Eligible Project Types

Depending on category, WAIDE may accept:

  • Completed work and work under construction
  • Unbuilt projects and conceptual proposals
  • Design products and materials
  • Visualizations and installations
  • Development projects
  • AI-assisted work

The selected category should match the actual status and nature of the submission.

Geographic Eligibility

WAIDE is an international programme and welcomes eligible entries from countries and regions worldwide, subject to applicable laws, payment availability and programme rules.

Student / Emerging Eligibility

Student / Emerging categories are intended for participants who meet the requirements published for those categories. Where proof of student status or career stage is requested, it should be provided accurately during the submission process.

Previously Published or Awarded Work

A project may generally be eligible even if it has been published or recognized elsewhere, unless a category-specific rule states otherwise. Participants remain responsible for confirming that previous agreements do not restrict the submission or publication of the project.

AI-Assisted Work

Projects using artificial intelligence are not excluded simply because AI tools were involved. However, WAIDE requires transparent disclosure of the tools, stage of use, generated or assisted elements and human creative contribution where applicable.

Rights and Permissions

The submitting party must have the authority to enter the project and provide the submitted text, images, drawings and other materials for judging and permitted publication. Third-party credits, including photography and collaborators, must be stated accurately.

Eligibility Review

WAIDE may review an entry for eligibility before or during the judging process. If information is incomplete, inconsistent or misleading, the organizer may request clarification or apply the relevant submission rules.
