Competition Rules — Founding Edition 2027

1. Purpose

WAIDE is a criteria-based international competition for architecture, design, development and intelligent creative work. It is not a lottery or random draw. Eligible individuals, studios, companies and teams may participate.

2. Competition calendar

Founding Entry: 16 November–31 December 2026 (€99); Early Bird: 1 January–15 February 2027 (€129); Regular Entry: 16 February–31 March 2027 (€169); Final Call: 1 April–31 May 2027 (€219). These are standard single-entry base fees; separate student, multiple-entry and development pricing may apply. The results announcement and judging dates will be published separately once confirmed. The final payable price, including applicable taxes, appears at checkout.

3. Categories and project status

Eligible disciplines include Architecture, Interior, Landscape, Urban, Furniture, Lighting, Product, Kitchen & Bath, Material, Graphic, AI Design, Visualization, Conceptual, Installation and Student/Emerging, together with separately described Development categories and Special Awards. The live category directory controls category-specific eligibility. Completed, in-progress, unbuilt and conceptual projects may be entered where the chosen category allows. A project may enter multiple eligible categories subject to separate entry terms.

4. Submission requirements

Provide the project title, category, description, year/status, location where applicable, accurate authorship and credits, appropriate images or visualisations, required rights declarations and AI disclosure. Exact file limits and technical specifications are displayed in the submission form. Entrants must not represent renderings as photographs of completed work.

5. Formal review

WAIDE may verify payment, completeness, category eligibility, rights declarations and technical compliance. WAIDE may request reasonable corrections or reject a materially non-compliant submission. Passing formal review is not an assessment of design merit.

6. Evaluation criteria

Four core criteria are Excellence (overall quality), Originality (distinctive thinking), Relevance (response to purpose, people and context), and Resolution (clarity and development). Category-specific criteria include Context for Architecture, Function/User Experience for Design, and Human–AI Methodology/Innovation for AI & Intelligence. Final scoring scales, weights, minimum independent reviews and award thresholds must be published before jury evaluation begins; no unapproved formula is represented here as final.

7. Jury independence

Jury members must declare actual or reasonably perceived conflicts of interest and must not assess conflicted entries. WAIDE may use multiple independent reviewers and documented moderation. Payment size and Founding 100 status do not affect scores. Individual scores and deliberations may remain confidential.

8. AI disclosure

Entrants must disclose material AI tools, stages of use, human authorship and which submitted materials were AI-generated or assisted. Misrepresentation of project status, authorship or AI use may lead to review or disqualification.

9. Recognition

Available award distinctions and criteria will be stated in the official Awards & Recognition page before evaluation. WAIDE may withhold a distinction if the quality threshold is not met. A digital certificate for eligible award recipients is provided under the published programme. Optional physical trophies may be sold separately with prices disclosed before purchase. Founding 100 membership is separate from jury awards.

10. Publication and rights

Publication and project credits are governed by the Terms & Conditions. Participation does not guarantee an individual feature or publicity. Entrants must hold rights to submit all materials.

11. Complaints and procedural review

An entrant may report a manifest administrative error, eligibility mistake or undisclosed conflict of interest to waide.ecosystem@gmail.com within 7 calendar days after receiving the relevant decision, without limiting any mandatory statutory rights. Disagreement with professional judgment alone is not a procedural appeal.

12. Applicable documents

These Rules form part of the competition contract together with the Terms & Conditions. Published category-specific eligibility rules apply to the relevant category, subject to mandatory law. Changes to material rules affecting paid entries must be handled fairly and communicated where appropriate.
